The current NRPP Radon Measurement Professional and Mitigation Professional certification exams will be retired on April 30th. Additionally, as of May 1st, the Radon Mitigation Professional designation will be officially referred to as “Radon Mitigation Specialist.”
These new Radon Measurement Professional and Radon Mitigation Specialist exams will cover content that includes domains and subdomains for the Measurement Field Technician and Mitigation Installer designations that will be rolled out in August 2021.
Exam References
The difference in the new exams is their focus on the relevant ANSI-AARST Standards.
Candidates for the Measurement Professional Exam must be very familiar with both the ANSI/AARST MAH-2019 Protocol for Conducting Measurements of Radon and Radon Decay Products in Homes and MS-QA-2019 Radon Measurement Systems Quality Assurance.
Candidates for the Mitigation Specialist Exam must be familiar with both the ANSI/AARST SGM-SF-2017 Soil Gas Mitigation Standards for Existing Homes and MAH-2019 Protocol for Conducting Measurements of Radon and Radon Decay Products in Homes.

The Measurement Professional Exam will include the domains for the Measurement Field Technician credential to come. Likewise, the Mitigation Specialist Exam will include the domains for Mitigation Installer. Below are the domains and subdomains for each of the four designations.
