The American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST) celebrates its 35th Anniversary of the International Radon Symposium by expanding its conference agenda to include vapor intrusion and has renamed the annual event the AARST International Radon and Vapor Intrusion Symposium.
The inclusion of vapor intrusion (VI) into this long-time event subsumes vapor intrusion related to radon measurement and mitigation, especially in large building settings. Advancements in both fields have progressed to the overlapping of knowledge bases, determination, and best practices that affect technicians in both fields. AARST has committed to supporting its professionals by bringing forth the best knowledge and education opportunities, setting up radon professionals certified and licensed for success in navigating this expanded market.
The annual symposium attracts hundreds of attendees annually, featuring dozens of presenters and posters on science and research topics to technological advancements, advocacy, business practices, and national policy. Abstracts for all sessions in multiple tracks are submitted and peer-reviewed . Attendees can also earn certification educational credits.
The in-person symposium will take place in Bethesda, Maryland- with a hybrid option, October 11-13, 2021. The symposium also features a trade show. A Call for Abstracts is currently open, and more information can be found on the AARST website.
